Ava Marie Williamson

Ava Marie Williamson, 95, of Trivoli, passed away at 12:30 AM on Thursday, May 2, 2024 at Farmington Village Nursing and Rehab. She was born on February 14, 1929 in Hanna City, IL to George and Bernice “Babe” (LaFollette) Stear. She married Herbert D. “Bud” Williamson on June 26, 1959 in Hanna City, IL. He preceded her in death.

She is also preceded in death by her parents; one step-son, Joe C. Williamson; and one brother, George Thomas (Viola) Stear.

She is survived by two step-children, Connie Williamson and Dan E. (Sue) Williamson; one sister, Alice B. (Don) Chitwood; niece, Dondra Chitwood; nephew, Todd Chitwood; five step-grandchildren, Chris Thurman of Wardsville, MO, Joe Williamson of Manning, SC, Jimmy Williamson of Trivoli, IL, Molly Casey of Washington, IL, and Daniel Scott Williamson of Peoria, IL; two great-nieces, Vail and Skyler Olinger; and one great-nephew, Ayrton Chitwood.

Ava worked and retired from the Peoria Journal Star. She also worked for Peoria Creamery. Ava graduated from Brown Business School. She enjoyed gardening, painting, reading, crocheting, and traveling with her husband. She also loved her dogs, Lady and Jewel.

Memorial service will be held at 5:00 PM on Wednesday, May 15, 2024 at Anderson-Sedgwick Funeral Home in Farmington, IL. Visitation will be held the same day from 4:00 PM – 5:00 PM at the funeral home. Chaplin Jordan Knight will officiate. A private burial will be held at Cottonwood Cemetery in Hanna City at a later date. Cremation rites will be accorded with Anderson-Sedgwick Funeral Home in Farmington, IL.
