Dawn A. Bailey-Byers

Dawn Annette Bailey-Byers, 54, of Pekin, passed away at her home at 11:10 a.m. on Tuesday, October 14, 2025. She was born on August 7, 1971 in Pekin to David A. and Retha Jane (Harris) Bailey.

Dawn is survived by her daughters, Maddison (Connor) Wagenbach of Mackinaw and Morrigan (Jacob Donath) Hartley of Congerville; granddaughter, Flora Marie Wagenbach; mother, Retha Bailey of Pekin; sisters, Deanna (Ricky) Alaniz of Clermont, Florida, Dusty (Shane) Thomas of Creve Couer, and Rebecca Bailey of Pekin; and several nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, and cousins. She was preceded in death by her father, David Bailey and her grandparents.
Dawn worked as a registered nurse at Pekin Hospital Emergency Room for over 20 years, before leaving to help care for her parents. She loved collecting crystals and stones, watching the Chicago Cubs, and hanging out with her dog, Mojo.
A memorial service will be held on Wednesday, October 29, 2025 at 1:00 p.m. at Bethel Baptist Church in Chandlerville, with Rev. William Wagahoff officiating. Burial will follow at Bethel Cemetery.
