Vernon E. Crum

Vernon E. Crum, 85, of London Mills, passed away, Sunday, August 24, 2025, at his home.

He was born in Havana, on May 11, 1940 to Howard and Alice Fern (Smith) Crum. They preceded him in death as well as four brothers, and five sisters.

Vernon married Bonnie (Davidson) Crum, on November 26, 1970, she preceded him in death on July 21, 2012.

He is survived by two sons, Douglas (Maureen) Goulding, and William D. Crum, three grandchildren, DeLayna Goulding, Natalie Goulding, and William J. Crum, and several nieces and nephews.

Vernon graduated from Havana High School in 1959. He is a Veteran of the United States Army. He worked at Caterpillar and retired in 1993. He later drove a school bus until 2004 for Valley schools. Lastly Vernon owned and operated Swegle Creek Nuisance Control. He enjoyed hunting and fishing and visiting at Spoonie’s with friends. Most of all Vernon enjoyed spending time with his family especially his grandchildren.

Memorials may be made to the American Kidney Fund.

A funeral service will be held at Oaks-Hines Funeral Home in Canton on Friday August 29, 2025, at 11:00 a.m. Rev. Barbara Nelson will officiate. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the services at the funeral home.

Burial will immediately follow at Wiley Cemetery in Ellisville.
