She was born in Springfield, on June 19, 1963, to Robert E. and Anita (Moss) Peters. They preceded her in death as well as her son Joshua Crowell - West
Evelyn is survived by her husband, Bill West, they were married on July 4, 1987 in St. David.
Also surviving is her daughter, Cheri Lillie, grandson Aaron Levi Lille whom she raised, daughter in law, Anna Tuttle, brother Robert Dean Peters, five sisters, Kathy (Jason) Baker, Angie Nettler, Carol Jean Sisson, Nancy Fields, and Melissa (Brian) Thompson, thirteen grandchildren, and two great grandchildren.
Evelyn first worked in healthcare for 19 years, she later worked as assistant manager at Casey’s North in Lewistown, as well as County Market. She was a member of the St. David Church of the Nazarene, and was a former first lady of Illinois optimist International, as well as Women’s Auxiliary.
She enjoyed reading, sewing and gardening. Most of all Evelyn enjoyed everything about her family, especially her grandchildren and all their friends.
A visitation will be held at Oaks-Hines Funeral Home in Canton on Thursday, August 28, 2025 from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Cremation rites will be accorded following the visitation. Memorials may be made to Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Research.
The family would like to thank the teams at OSF Hospice, Help at Home and caretaker Jennifer Edwards for the loved and care they gave to them.
