He was born December 16, 1954 at Canton, the son of Junior and Shirley (Young) Harper. Survivors include one sister, Kathy (Danny) Herrick of Canton, one brother, Allen (Sandy) Harper of Lewistown, one nephew, Jason (Lori) Harper of Fairview, and his beloved dog, Claude. He was preceded in death by his parents.
Richard worked at the Duck Island Gravel pit. He enjoyed deer hunting, fishing, mushroom hunting, and mowing his yard.
A private family graveside service will be held Friday July 11, 2025 at Cuba Cemetery. There will be no visitation. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association or the Fulton County Humane Society.
