She was born on June 25, 1940, in Peoria to Carl and Priscilla (Peabody) Siebel.
She married Ron Fahnestock on June 3, 1961. He survives.
Also surviving are two sons, Rick (Beth) Fahnestock of Wee-Ma-Tuk, Robb Fahnestock of Canton, one brother, Charles Siebel of Florida, and three grandchildren, Brock, Paige and Kylie.
Joan worked for Caterpillar in Mapleton where she retired in 1995 after more than 24 years of service. She was active in the Canton Athletics programs and the Little Giant Booster Club.
Cremation rites have been accorded through Oaks-Hines Funeral Home in Canton and a visitation will be held on Saturday, September 21, 2024 from 10 am until Noon. There will be no funeral service.
Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society.
