She was born January 3, 1944 in Canton, Illinois to John R. and Gertrude A. (Stephens) Pollitt. She married Donald J. Unes on March 30, 1963 in Bartonville, Illinois.
She is survived by her daughter, Kim (Mike) Gilstrap; granddaughters, Mindy (Greg) Glomb and Mallory (Ryan Yurkovich) Gilstrap; great-grandchildren, Bronson and Harrison Glomb, Mason and Logan Griffith, and Delaney Isbell; and brothers, John and Steve Pollitt.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Don; sister, Linda Horner; brothers, Jerry and Gary Pollitt; and infant son, Gregory.
Sue loved being social and spent much of her career in the service industry. She was an excellent and loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She devoted her life to her family. She especially loved making special treats for all of her grandchildren. Sue also enjoyed time with friends and playing bingo. She had a wonderful sense of humor and always knew how to make someone smile.
Cremation rites have been accorded. The family will hold a private ceremony at a later date.
