He was born July 1, 1997 at Peoria the son of Lewis L. “Monty” and Marlynna (Hart) McClaughry. Surviving are his parents of Fiatt, grandfather, Wilbur McClaughry of Cuba, and three brothers, Josh Windsor of Fiatt, Matthew McClaughry of Cuba, and Chase McClaughry of Macomb. He was preceded in death by grandparents, Harriett McClaughry, and Robert & Donna Hart.
As a boy Robert enjoyed Cub Scouts. He graduated from Cuba High School in 2015 where he played varsity baseball, basketball, and football. He then graduated from Western Illinois University with a degree in business.
Robert was a logistic manager for Werner Industries that handled distribution for Dollar General Stores all over the United States. He was a member of the Cuba Chrisitan Church, Fellowship of Christian Athletes, and Pi Kappa Phi. Robert enjoyed fishing, hunting, all sports, and spending time with family and friends.
Funeral services will be held at 3:00 PM Sunday May 5th at the Cuba Christian Church with Pastor Mike Arnett officiating. Burial will be in Fiatt Cemetery at Fiatt. Visitation will be held from 4 until 6 PM Saturday May 4th at the Cuba Senior High School. Memorial contributions may be made to the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation. The family has requested please don’t send live flowers or anything with strong fragrances. Henry-Lange Memorial Home in Cuba is assisting the family with arrangements.
