Michael William Geier, 70, of Pekin, passed away at 4:48 p.m. on Thursday, May 2, 2024 at his home with his family.. He was born on December 8, 1953 in Pekin, Illinois to William and Evelyn (Beeney) Geier. He married Lorene Eash on May 4, 1974 in Mattoon, Illinois.
Michael is survived by his wife, Lorene Geier, of Pekin, children: Lynn (Mat) Bastien of Mapleton, Illinois and Christopher Geier of Pekin, Illinois, grandchildren: Austin Greene, Natalie Greene, and Ava Bastien, and siblings: Terrie Neville of Pekin, Illinois, Karen Swadensky of Huntertown, Indiana, Debbie Bruner of Pekin, Illinois, Ray Geier of Boulder, Colorado, and Brian Geier of Pekin, Illinois. Michael was the beloved uncle to many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and brother, David Geier. A special thanks to his good friends, Danny, Tony and Mike, for the help, support and friendship they gave.
Michael was raised in the Catholic faith. He was a hunter and fisherman. He had a love for sports and excelled at baseball. He also enjoyed watching NASCAR.
He is missed by many. "He was a dandy."
Cremation rites have been accorded and no services are planned at this time.
