Janice K. Myers

Fairview- Janice K. Myers, 75, much loved Mother, Grandma and Great Grandma, passed away at 10:25 pm, on December 5th, 2022 at her home. She was born on November 13, 1947 in Canton, IL to Park S. and Imogene L. (Easley) Cozart, both deceased. Janice married Clayton H. Myers on December 2, 1967 in Galesburg, IL. He preceded her in death on June 1, 2004. She will be missed by her sister, Virginia Poscis of Cuba, IL, her children, Marvin Myers of London Mills, IL, Melvin (Mary Ann) Myers of Kingwood, TX, Kimberlee (Michael) Johnson of Smithfield, IL, Michele Myers of Fairview, IL, Grandson, Jacob (Ashley) Johnson, Great Grand Daughters, Jessica and Callie Johnson, of Good Hope, IL, and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins, and her grand-cat, Boo.


Janice always enjoyed the outdoors and would often accompany her father hunting or trapping. As a young girl she even had her own coon hound. She was taught how to plant and care for a garden and to can the produce. Her work ethic started young working in the garden and picking the many fruits her father and mother grew. It continued when she waitressed at Cox’s Drug Store in Cuba, IL. She then took a break and visited her Uncla and Aunt, Wayne and Allenie Boyd in Portland, OR, for a month’s worth of travelling in the northwest. Upon returning to Illinois she began working at Hagley’s Dairy in Canton, IL as a cook. She then married Clayton and helped raise 4 children. She returned to work in 1991 when she began working at Farm King in Canton, IL. She retired in January, 2022 after working 30 years and 2 months there. While employed there she filled many positions and she enjoyed them all. But she especially loved her customers she met while doing her job and the people she worked with. Her co-workers were her second family.


Cremation will be accorded. A graveside service will be held at 11:00 AM, Tuesday December 13th at Wiley Cemetery rural Ellisville. The family would like for you to join them for a meal following the service at the Fairview American Legion. Henry-Lange Memorial Home in Cuba is assisting the family with arrangements.
