He married Vivian (Hempstead) on April 19, 1965, she preceded him in death on August 3, 2002.
Also preceding him in death is his parents.
Surviving are several cousins, Jim (Gretchen) Gordon of Clinton, Illinois; Bill (Sue) Gordon; Jane (Stan) Franklin; John (Pam) Gordon; Tom Gordon, all of Lovington, Illinois; Michael Cochran of Michigan, and Joanne Paige of Arizona.
Wade worked and retired from Caterpillar, Inc. after 37 years of service, retiring in 1983. He attended Redeemer Lutheran Church in Peoria, and later was a member of the First Christian Church of Lovington. He was a veteran of the United States Army, serving during World War II (1942-1945). In 2019 Wade enjoyed being on the Honor Flight to Washington, D.C.
Funeral services will be at 1:30 PM on Tuesday, November 22, 2022 at the Endsley-Sedgwick Funeral Home in Bartonville, where visitation will be from 12:30 PM until the time of services. Rev. Ron Miller will officiate. Following the services, burial and military honors will be conducted by the United States Army and Peoria American Legion Post #2 at Swan Lake Memory Gardens in Peoria.
