Zachary “Zac” Hootman


Eau Claire, Michigan-Zachary “Zac” Hootman, 38, formerly of Canton, passed away Thursday, September 17, 2020, at Spectrum Health in Grand Rapids, Michigan due to heart complications.

He was born on September 22, 1981, in Canton, to Brent and Joni (Picton) Hootman.

Surviving are his parents of Canton, his daughter Brittany Hootman of Canton, son Vann Hootman of Florida, Fiancé Megan Pyne of St. Joseph, Michigan, two brothers, Brandon (Kara) Hootman of Canton, Trent (Rylie) Hootman of Canton, paternal grandmother, Roslyn Wooddell and two nieces, Alivia and Ella Hootman.

Zac worked as a Union brick layer in the Southwest Michigan area.  He enjoyed, mushrooming, fishing, boating, cooking, gardening and his dogs.  He was an avid Bears fan and was of the Catholic faith.

A visitation will be held at Oaks-Hines Funeral Home in Canton on Saturday, September 26, 2020 from 9:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. with a funeral service to follow at 11 am.

Burial will be held at the White Chapel Memory Gardens in Canton.

Due to COVID 19 mandates a mask will be required.

Memorials may be made to a college fund for his children C/O CEFCU.
