Carolyn R. Bearce, 82, of Canton, passed away at 12:15 AM on Thursday, September 24, 2020 at her residence. She was born on January 27, 1938 in Canton to Threll and Josephine (McMullen) Waughtel. She married Mark L. Bearce on October 29, 1955 in Canton, IL. He preceded her in death in 2000.
Carolyn was preceded in death by her parents, two sisters, Wanda (Louis) Whiteman and Norma (Robert) Morgan.
Surviving are two children, Kathie L. Johnson and Mark (Ulrike) Bearce; three grandchildren, Brandon (Amy) Carroll, Jennifer Bearce, and Mark (Melanie) Knight; and five great-grandchildren, Jackson and Mason Carroll, Emily and Kevin Bearce, and Robin Knight.
Carolyn worked as a surgical tech for 45 years at Graham Hospital in Canton. She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Canton and the Lady’s Auxiliary VFW. Carolyn loved animals and collecting porcelain dolls.
Graveside services will be held at 11 AM on Monday, September 28, 2020 at Greenwood Cemetery in Canton, IL. Rev. Kevin VanTine will officiate. Memorials can be made to the Fulton County Humane Society. Sedgwick Funeral Homes & Crematory is in charge of arrangements.
