Richard C. Spenny, 77, of Canton passed away on June 9, 2020 at 10:28 am at OSF St. Francis Medical Center in Peoria. He was born on June 7, 1943 in Canton to Harlan O. and Helen Louise (VanNortwick) Spenny.
He married Paula Svob on June 20, 1964 in Canton. She survives along with two daughters; Angela (Ken) Bottrell of Lincoln and Joanna (Danny) Perkins of Bartlett and two step-grandsons; Kaleb and Koby Bottrell. He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother John.
Richard worked as an electrician at Caterpillar Inc, retiring in 1998. He was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church in Canton and was a Navy veteran serving from 1966 - 1970.
Cremation rites have been accorded and a Celebration of Life will be at a later date. Memorials can be made to the National Kidney Foundation. Oaks-Hines Funeral Home and Crematory in Canton are in charge of arrangements.
