Chatham – Walter Richard Jr, 92, of Chatham formerly of Canton and Colchester, passed away at 6:04 am Saturday, March 23, 2019 at Reflections Memory Care in Chatham. He was born on January 16, 1927 in St. David to Walter and Wilma (O’Bryant) Richard Sr. Walter first married Patty Miller and later married Lucy Knecht. She preceded him death in 1997. Also preceding him in death were his parents.
Surviving are two daughters; Linda (Allen) Molick of Chatham, and Dianne (Jim) Markley of Greenview, six grandchildren, five great-grandchildren, one great-great grandchild and another on the way.
Walter was a self-employed coal miner and trucker, operating Walter Richard Coal & Trucking.
Services will be 2:00 pm Tuesday, March 26, 2019 at Oaks-Hines Funeral Home and Crematory in Canton, where visitation will be one hour prior to services. Burial will follow in Greenwood Cemetery in Canton. To leave online condolences, please visit www.oakshinesfuneralhome.com
