Dolores F. Wilkinson


Canton – Dolores F. Wilkinson, 90, of Canton, passed away Sunday, March 10, 2019, at Clayberg Nursing Home in Cuba.
She was born on August 22, 1928, in Mason City, to Frank and Maudie (Kessler) Landis. They preceded her in death.
She married Wilbur “Bud” Wilkinson, on July, 10, 1948, in Canton. He preceded her in death November 14, 2000.
She is survived by seven children, Mark Wilkinson of Creve Coeur, Curtis Lee (Janet) Wilkinson of Canton, Dana (Brenda) Wilkinson of St. Petersburg Florida, Ann (Randy) Stuber of Bryant, Tina (Bob) Spahn of Cuba, Merry (Joe) Johnston of East Peoria, and Dolores “Cookie”  (Chuck Stambaugh) Coulter of Bloomington, one brother Billy Landis of Indiana, three sisters, Sherry Landis of Florida, Betty Landis of Carbondale, and Mardel Pepmeyer of St. Louis, 15 grandchildren, 36 great grandchildren, and 4 great great grandchildren, and two on the way. She was preceded in death by one granddaughter Nichole Stuber.
Dolores worked at Woolworths, and later worked as a nurse’s aid at Sunset Manor for 12 years and Golden Acres for 11 years. She loved word search books and scratch off lottery tickets. She was an avid gardener and loved to grow green beans and enjoyed baking and decorating cakes. She also enjoyed traveling throughout the country with her husband during his time in the United States Air Force.
Cremation rites have been accorded and a celebration of life will be held at a later date. Oaks-Hines Funeral Home and Crematory has been entrusted with arrangements.
