Farmington – Leona G. Argei, 97, of Farmington, passed away at 4:20 AM on Wednesday, March 20, 2019 at Farmington Country Manor. She was born on January 1, 1922 in Warsaw, MO to George and Maggie (Summers) Failer. She married Sero Argei on May 12, 1957 at Farmington Baptist Church. He preceded her in death.
Also preceding her in death were her parents and two sisters, Jewel and Loraine.
Surviving are two children, Bernadine (Howard) Sipp of Glasford and Gerald (Connie) Nelson of Canton; eight grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren; and two sisters, Christine Newcomb of IA and Etta Marie Wind of Chicago, IL.
Leona was of the Baptist faith. She loved birds, crafting, sewing, antiques, and her huge collection of dolls.
Graveside services will be held at 10 AM on Saturday, March 23, 2019 at Trivoli Cemetery in Trivoli, IL. Rev. Walter Carlson will officiate. Memorials can be made to the First Baptist Church Food Pantry. Anderson-Sedgwick Funeral Home in Farmington, IL is in charge of arrangements.
