Tracy A. Overholt

Cuba – Tracy A. Overholt, 49, of Cuba, passed away Friday, November 17, 2017 at her residence. She was born on September 20, 1968 in Pekin to Richard W. and Lillie (Willsie) Overholt. They survive.

Overholt of Canton, and Laura (Jeff) Buchman of Canton; nieces and nephews, Kyle James, Ashley Buchman, and Kelly (Nick) Verardo, their children, Aubree, Brayden, and Caleb Verardo; and her fur babies, Mallie and Gracie. All of whom she loved as if they were her own.

She graduated from Canton High School in 1986, Spoon River College, and Western Illinois University. Tracy was employed as a Corrections Officer by Illinois Correctional Center for 28 years, where she considered her co-workers her second family. She was a member of AFSCME Local 3585.

Family and friends meant the world to Tracy, she had a heart of gold with a one in a million personality, which included the most beautiful, sometimes warped, sense of humor. Her infectious smile, her presence and her laugh would light up the room. With Tracy, there was never a dull moment. Once you met Tracy, you could never forget her.

Memorial service will be held at 12 PM noon on Saturday, November 25, 2017 at Sedgwick Funeral Homes & Crematory in Canton, IL, where a visitation will be 10 AM to 12 PM noon. A celebration of life will be held after the services at the Cuba American Legion. Rev. Kevin VanTine will officiate. Cremation rites will be accorded.
