Dan L. Kepple


Farmington – Dan L. Kepple, 85, of Farmington passed away at 3:16 pm Thursday, June 2, 2016 at the Richard L. Owen Hospice Home in Peoria.  He was born on August 6, 1930 in Canton to Ercel and Mary (Ash) Kepple.  Dan married Dorothy Fatheree on August 20, 1950 in Farmington.  She survives along with five children; Brad (Cynthia) Kepple of Farmington, Kathy (Michael) Antle of Mapleton, Diane (late Brad) Polhemus of Farmington, Roger (Amy) Kepple of Elmwood, and Debbie (Greg) Harman of Germantown Hills, three brothers; Lonnie (Louise) Kepple of Florida, Tom (Martha) Kepple of Farmington, and Mike (Linda) Kepple of Peoria, three sisters; Janey (Bill) Reinert of Spokane, Washington, Pat (Fred) Duncan of New York, and Carol Chatten of Farmington, thirteen grandchildren and thirteen great-grandchildren.
Dan worked as a coal miner for Consolidated Coal Company and also farmed.  He was a member of Farmington United Methodist Church, Boy Scouts where he was honored with Order of the Arrow in 1966, and was inducted into the Peoria Sports Hall of Fame in 2005 for being on the 1946 undefeated Football Team.
Graveside services will be 11 am Friday, June 10th at Oak Ridge Cemetery in Farmington with the Rev. Paul Lee officiating.  Burial will follow.  Cremation rites have been accorded.  Memorials can be made to the Farmington United Methodist Church.  To leave online condolences, please visit www.oakshinesfuneralhome.com
