Pekin- Doris A. Bordner, 90, of Pekin and formerly of Lewistown, passed away at 7:04 AM Tuesday April 26, 2016 at Pekin Manor.
She was born December 15, 1925 at Delavan, the daughter of Ray W. and Jennie M. (Jennings) Hymbaugh. She married Henry “Ray” Bordner at the 1st Presbyterian Church in Hopedale. He preceded her in death on January 31, 1974. She was also preceded in death by her parents, three brothers, Homer, Wilbur, and Wesley, two sisters, Violet, and Donna. Surviving is one sister, Lila Jenkins of Pekin, 19 nieces and nephews, and triple great nieces and nephews.
Doris graduated from Lewistown High School. She and her husband farmed in Lewistown for 20 years, and also worked as a dental assistant for Dr. J.R. Thompson in Lewistown for 34 years. She loved to play cards, bingo, vacation trips to Las Vegas, and attend family gatherings. She was an avid Chicago Cubs fan.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM Friday at Henry-Lange Memorial Home in Lewistown. Visitation will be held one hour prior to services at the memorial home. Burial will be in Oak Hill Cemetery at Lewistown. Memorial contributions may be made to Disabled Veterans Association. Condolences may be made at henrylange.com
