She was born in Marietta, on November 19, 1937, to William and Vada (Postin) Havens. They preceded her in death.
Sarah is also preceded in death by the love of her life of over 50 years, Cleatis Selby.
Surviving are two children, Carma (the late David) Jones, Stacey (the late Mike) Calvin, son in law Terry Ford, three siblings, Birtie Winters, Shirley Graham, and Ronald (Linda) Havens, five grandchildren, Zach (Meghann), Nathan (Nicole), Dexter, Sarah (Clark), and Jacob, and four great grandchildren, Gabe, Gavin, Grant, Abigail, and one more on the way.
Sarah is also preceded in death by one daughter, Bonnie Ford, and nine siblings, Alice, Betty, Billy, Frank, Wilma, Jeanie, Jim, Bob, and Susie.
Sarah enjoyed cooking for her family she will be remember for her homemade bread and doughnuts, and she loved when any friend or family would stop by her home for a visit. She was an avid fan of Day of Our Lives. She watched from its inception up until it was taken off regular television. She also enjoyed going for lemon ice cream cones at Hannam’s in Canton. Most of all Sarah enjoyed spending time with her family especially her grandchildren, who she was known as granny and her great grandchildren that nicknamed her “Lady”.
Memorials may be made to the family for a future memorial for Sarah.
A funeral service will be held at Oaks-Hines Funeral Home in Canton on Saturday, December 21, 2024 at 11:00 a.m. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the services.
Burial will immediately follow at Marrietta Cemetery.
