He was born in Canton, on June 20, 1952, to Roland Norton and Ellyn (Whitehead).
He married Janet (Hopwood) Norton in 1985. She preceded him in death in August of 2024. He is also preceded in death by his brother Joseph (Doris) Norton.
Curt is survived by two sons, Jason (Samantha) Norton, and Aaron (Star) Norton, two step daughters, Angie (Blair) Ackman, and Jennifer (Steve) Kohlbrecher, and eight grandchildren, Curtis, Bailey, Joseph, Maggie (Tristin), Cole (Shelby), Paige, Carter and Bennett.
Curt retired as a strong union brother to IBEW LU 34 Electrical union. He was active on the executive board for IBEW LU 34 and he dedicated over 20 years on the apprenticeship board to help new electricians in the union. He was also a proud member of the HAVANA 40.
Curt was of the Christian faith. He enjoyed showing his family his love of the outdoors. He enjoyed crappie fishing, duck, squirrel, and morel mushroom hunting.
A memorial service will be held on Monday December 16, 2024, at 2:00 p.m. at Oaks-Hines Funeral Home in Canton. Visitation will be held two hours prior to the service.
A burial of Curtis and Janet’s ashes will be held immediately following the services at Greenwood Cemetery in Canton.
Following the burial a celebration of life for Curt will be held at the Canton American Legion Post 16 starting at 5:00 p.m. where he frequented often.
