She was born in Canton, to Howard and Elva (Sprague) Rumler. They preceded her in death as well as eight siblings, Betty, Willie, Junior Howard, Mahlon Arlo, Robert, Rollin, Harry, and Larry.
Leta married John F. Stufflebeam on November 18, 1956 in Canton. He preceded her in death on December 18, 2016.
Surviving are four children, Sally Anderson of Worthington MN, John Stufflebeam of Lewistown, Linda (Rick) Moore of Romeoville, and Karen (Wesley) Wall of Romeoville, twin sister Reta (the late Bob) Kirkpatrick, four grandchildren, Brittney (Dylan), Nick (Emily), Alex (Lindsey), and Joshua (Kailee), one great grandson A.J., one great granddaughter on the way, and several nieces and nephews.
Leta was a gifted singer, she sang at the Bible Baptist Church in Romeville, where she taught Sunday School. She was also very involved in AWANA, Senior Saints, and Lady’s Missionary Group.
Leta enjoyed embroidery, and collecting dolls. She loved anything chocolate flavored. Most of all she loved her family especially her grandchildren.
Memorials may be made to Serenity Point Hospice, or to the special caregivers she had over the years.
A funeral service will be held at Oaks-Hines Funeral Home in Canton on Wednesday, December 4, 2024, at 2:00 p.m. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service.
Burial will immediately follow at Greenwood Cemetery in Canton.
