He was born in London Mills, on August 5, 1928, to Ernest and Amy (Smith) Buck. They preceded him in death, as well as his sister, Alberta Schafer, and a special friend Rose Foss
He is survived by five children, Bob (Debbie) Buck of Vermont, Jim (Debra) Buck of Maquon, Bill (Terisa) Buck of Seville, Joanne (Scott) Rupe of Canton, and Penny Buck of Macomb, thirteen grandchildren, twenty great grandchildren, and the mother of his children, Shirley Graham.
Doc worked at Gale products in Galesburg for 17 years making Lawn Boy lawn mowers. He is a member of the Methodist Church in London Mills. VFW and American Legion and the Farmington Moose. Doc is a Veteran of the Untied States Army. He served in the Korean War. Doc was the world’s biggest Chicago Cubs fan. He also enjoyed the Chicago Bears, Bulls and Blackhawks. Doc was a Fulton County sports history buff. Doc was honored to be part of the Greater Peoria Honor Flight.
A funeral service will be held at Oaks-Hines Funeral Home in Canton on, Wednesday, December 4, 2024 at 11:00 a.m. Visitation will be held at the funeral home one hour prior to the service.
Burial with Military Honor's will immediately follow the services at West Midway Cemetery in London Mills.
