Norman L McMillen, 91, of Ray, IL, passed away at 5:28 am on Monday, December 9, 2024 at Red Oak Estates in Canton, IL. He was born on March 20, 1933, the son of Harry and Iva (Stambaugh) McMillen. Norman married Ruth Pigg on April 14, 1956 in Rushville, IL. Ruth preceded Norman in death on October 2, 2013.
Also preceding him in death are his two brothers; Robert McMillen and Bill McMillen.
He is survived by his two daughters; Susan (and Everett) Easley and Jo Lynn (and Dave) Campbell, both of Astoria, IL, grandson; Chad (and Amanda) Easley of Canton, granddaughter; Ashley (and Jason) Yazvec of Astoria, two great-grandchildren; Jaylee and Jack Yazvec.
Norman was a farmer and raised cattle. He also worked at International Harvester and was a mail carrier during his lifetime.
He was a member of the Rushville American Legion. Norman enjoyed going to auctions, collecting coins, playing poker and raising cattle. One of his biggest hobbies was watching the stock market.
Services will be held at 11 am on Friday, December 13, 2024 at Shawgo Memorial Home in Astoria. Pastor Matthew Thiner will officiate. A visitation will take place one hour prior to the service on Friday. Memorials may be made to St. Jude Children’s Hospital or Schuyler County Humane Society.
