He was born in Peoria on March 27, 1937, to Elmer and Florence (Hersey) Maddox. They preceded him in death.
Louie is survived by six children, Mike (Suzie) Maddox, Ken (Diane) Maddox, Laurie (the late Joseph) Plecki, Julie Moore, Jeff Maddox, and Leigh Ann (Kevin) Bonney, eleven grandchildren, Kyle, Ken, Lindzey, Emily, Kara (Jenn), Ryan (Morgan), Mya, Raegan, Kaitlyn, Heather, and Austin (Robyn), twelve great grandchildren, two sister in laws, Joyce Barrick-Krauskoupf, and Judy Oliver, and his best friend Keith Lindsey.
Also preceding him in death are two brothers, Larry (Bev) Maddox, and Keith Maddox, two sisters, Barb (Woody) Underwood, and Delores Adams, one granddaughter Stephanie Maddox, and his two beloved cats Smokey and Lightening.
Louie started working at Grimm Truck Stop in 1966 fueling and repairing trucks. He later worked for Fort Transfer in Morton and retired in 1999 as a truck driver. He was a member of the local Teamsters Union, and a previous member of the Moose Lodge. He enjoyed watching Nascar, traveling with his 5th wheel camper, and taking care of numerous homeless cats around his home. Louie was very generous over the years donating to countless charities to help those in need. He was an avid reader. Most of all he enjoyed spending time with his family.
A graveside service will be held at White Chapel Memory Gardens in Canton on Friday, December 13, 2024 at 2:00 p.m.
