Larry K. Jarvis

Larry K. Jarvis, 62, of Canton passed away at 11:45 am Friday, December 11, 2015 at the Renaissance Care Center in Canton.  He was born on June 15, 1953 in Sterling, IL. to Ora and Joanna (Messmore) Jarvis.  Larry married Kim Andre.  Surviving are 2 children; Matthew B. Jarvis and Mollie Jarvis both of Canton, 4 grandchildren; Isabella Jarvis, Hoyt Jarvis, Laila Jarvis, and Gauge Barker, mother Joanna Jarvis of Canton, 2 brothers; Lynn (Phyllis) Jarvis of Canton and Chuck (Denis) Jarvis of Canton, a sister Judy (Bill) Leitze of Canton, and his former wife Kim Thunhorst of Springfield.
Larry worked at Butternut Bakery as a route driver.  He was a member of First Christian Church of Canton.
Larry had two abiding passions in his life-his grandchildren and the St. Louis Cardinals.  Rarely did a conversation take place without his mentioning this grandchild was “his special little buddy” or “she’s smart as a whip.”  He took great pride in telling people he was a grandfather.
He also took pride in telling people he was a Cardinal fan.  He showed his pride by wearing Cardinal caps of several types as well as a wide assortment of Cardinal shirts.  He showed his pride even further by having St. Louis insignias tattooed on each arm and would readily show them to anybody.  He always said he would live and die as a Cardinal fan.
Services will be 12:00 pm Tuesday, December 15, 2015 at Murphy-Sedgwick Memorial Home in Canton where visitation will be 1 hour prior.  The Rev. Dr. Glenn Nestlerode will officiate.  Cremation rites have been accorded.  Memorials can be made to an education fund for his grandchildren c/o CEFCU.  To view Larry’s DVD or make online condolences you can go to www.sedgwickfuneralhomes.com
