Phillip “Buck” Bishop Sr.

Phillip “Buck” Bishop Sr., 79, of Hanna City, IL, passed away at 8:10 AM on Saturday, February 17, 2024 in Hanna City, IL. He was born on June 25, 1944 in Bureau, IL to Russell and Lena (Songer) Bishop Sr. He married Marilyn Kay Johnson on April 26, 2012 in Lewistown, IL.She preceded him in death.

He is also preceded in death by his parents, one son, Troy Dean Bishop; one daughter-in-law, Angela R. Bishop; and seven brothers and sisters.

He is survived by one son, Phil Bishop Jr.; six grandchildren, Timmy Bishop, Tyler Bishop, Shane DeVere (Beth Phillips) Stewart, Dillion Andrew Reissen, Samantha Erlene Reissen, and Cody (Hannah Jones) Bishop; and four great-grandchildren.

Buck owned Bucks Tree Service since 1983. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, and wood working. He was great at all different types of trade services. He was known to be a ladies’ man. He was also a very loving father and grandfather.

Memorial service will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, March 2, 2024 at Anderson-Sedgwick Funeral Home in Farmington, IL. A visitation will be held the same day from 10:00 AM– 11:00 AM. Rev. Rick Kensinger will officiate. Burial will follow services at Princeville Cemetery in Princeville, IL. Cremation rites will be accorded with Anderson-Sedgwick Funeral Home in Farmington, IL.
