Jessie M. Hamblin

Jessie Mildred Hamblin, 88, of Havana passed away at her home at 9:10 a.m. on Sunday, February 18, 2024. She was born on February 10, 1936 in Summum, Illinois to Jesse and Mildred (Shelly) Hart. She married Charles V. Carrier on July 12, 1957 and he preceded her in death on April 27, 1961. She later married Thomas T. Hamblin on November 10, 1961 and he preceded her in death on July 4, 2000.

Jessie is survived by her children, Chuck Carrier of Kilbourne and Cindy Hamblin of Havana; granddaughter, Dana (Michael) Martin of Klamath Falls, Oregon; great-grandchildren, Mieci and Wren Martin; sister, Ellie Genseal of Greenview; and many nieces and nephews. She was also preceded in death by her parents; as well as several brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law.

Jessie was a member of Havana 1st United Methodist Church. She was a homemaker and worked for Franklin Life in the 1950’s and later worked at Horace Mann. She loved her cats and all animals, reading, doing word searches, and listening to Elvis.

Cremation rites have been accorded and a memorial service will be held at a later date.
