Joe Thomas “Tom” Ford 73yr., 11 months, 18 days, passed peacefully to his heavenly home on February 20, 2024 surrounded by loving family.
Tom was born on March 2, 1950 in Owensboro, KY; to Joe Taylor and Louise Allgood-Ford. Tom was adopted and raised by Merle Ford Sr. He married Dana Yocum on February 18, 1971 in Lewistown. She survives along with two children, Valerie (Aaron) Brooks of Astoria, and Brian (Veronica) Ford of Lombard, two grandchildren, Will and Rachel Ford, three sisters, Mary Emma (Bill) Hughes, Marla Ford, and Marsha Ford all of Havana, one brother, Merle Ford Jr, of Lewistown, three aunts, Carol (Gene) Tomkins of Meridian, MS; Elizabeth Jackson of Calhoun, KY; and Alice Taylor of Owensboro, KY; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents.
Tom was a 1968 graduate of Lewistown Community High School. He worked at Caterpillar and retired after 37 years. He was a member of Lewistown Masonic Lodge 104 AF&AM, and the Lewistown United Methodist Church. Tom enjoyed family, golf, motorcycles, hunting, and music.
Cremation will be accorded. Burial of ashes will be in Forest Lawn Memory Gardens in Macomb and a celebration of life will be held at a later date. Henry-Lange Memorial Home in Lewistown is assisting the family. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Lewistown Fire & Rescue, Lewistown Masonic Lodge 104, Ducks Unlimited, and Lewistown Historical Society.
