Dale W. Lacey passed away at Mason District Hospital, in Havana, on Friday, February 2, 2024, after a short bout with cancer. He was born April 29,1939, in Bath, Illinois, to Harriet Taylor and Earl Lacey. He married Juanita Hall on September 20, 1958, in Bath. She survives.
Also surviving are his children: Larry (Danielle) Lacey, and Karen Lacey, all of Havana. Also surviving are grandchildren: Megan and Melissa Lacey of Havana, and Matt (Miriam) Lacey, of Atlanta, Illinois; sister: Helen Ann Hardy, and brother, Robert Lacey, of Bath, and brother, Tim Lacey of Glasford; as well as his two dogs: Tucker and Finnegan. He was preceded in death by his parents, sister, Lieu Hackman, and brother James Lacey.
He retired from Caterpillar Inc., after 35 years. He started his business, “Lacey Heating and Air” in 1983. He worked with his son and grandson until he retired in 2021. He was a member of the Havana Rural Fire Department for 25 years. He enjoyed camping, hunting and visiting with people.
Visitation will be held at Hurley Funeral Home, in Havana, on Tuesday, February 6, 2024, from 10:00 until 11:00 a.m. Graveside services will follow at Laurel Hill Cemetery, in Havana, at 11:00 a.m.
