Alan R. Evans

Alan R. Evans, 96, formerly of Springfield, IL; passed away Saturday February 17, 2024 at Cedarhurst Senior Living Center in Washington, IL where he was a resident.

He was born March 3, 1927 at Bryant, IL the son of John and Alice (Reed) Evans. He married Jane Townslay on August 31, 1952 in Cuba, IL. She preceded him in death on April 7, 2003. Survivors include two children, Marc (Crystal) Evans of Carbondale, IL; Marci Evans of Peoria, IL; one grandson, Nicolas Evans of Bloomington, IN; and one sister, Audrey Curtis of Canton, IL.

Alan was a 1946 graduate of Canton High School. He worked as an engineer for Illinois Bell Telephone for 43 years and retired in 1989.

A graveside service will be held on Friday February 23, 2024 at 12 noon at Cuba Cemetery with Pastor Shane Smith officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Illinois Eye Bank at eyehealthillinois.org/donate. Condolences may be made at henrylange.com
