Artis VanHouten

Farmington- Artis VanHouten, 84, of Farmington, passed away at 3:33 PM on Tuesday, February 20, 2024 at her daughter’s residence in Farmington. She was born on December 6, 1939 in Farmington Township, a daughter of Evan “Tick” and Lola (Miller) Welker. She married Kenneth VanHouten Sr. on June 14, 1958 in Farmington. He preceded her in death.

Also preceding her, in death were her parents; one son, Howard VanHouten; and one sister, Linda Payne.

Surviving is her children, Kenneth (Karen) VanHouten Jr. of Canton, Karen (Tracy) Bishop of Farmington, Francie (Eric) Baker of Pinckneyville, and daughter-in-law, Debbie VanHouten of Farmington; eight grandchildren; eleven great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

Artis worked at Farmington Kitchen Cooked Chips Farmington in Farmington for several years.

A funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, February 24, 2024 at Anderson-Sedgwick Funeral Home in Farmington, where visitation will be from 10:00 AM until the time of the services. Rev. Kevin Van Tine will officiate. Burial will follow service at Oak Ridge Cemetery in Farmington. Memorials can be made to the Farmington Rescue Squad 1100.
