Danny "Oscar" L. Phillips

Danny “Oscar” L. Phillips, 77, of Canton, passed away at 2:20 PM on Sunday, February 25, 2024 at OSF Richard L. Owens Hospice home in Peoria, IL. He was born on December 9, 1946 in Canton, IL to Ella Margaret (Phillips) Quin. He married Sherril Scott on October 17, 2003 in Canton, IL. She survives.

He is also survived by three children, Nicole (Wes) Danner, Tonya (Bobby) Bellamy, and Timothy Billings all of Canton; two grandchildren, Stella Billings of Peoria and Tristan Harper of Canton; and one sister, Bonnie (Quin) Schisler of Lewistown.

He is preceded in death by his mother; maternal grandparents that raised him, Arza Wayne and Margaret Anna (Becker) Phillips; and three brothers.

Oscar worked for the City of Canton in the street department for 33 years. He enjoyed fishing, playing cards and watching the Green Bay Packers and Chicago Cubs play. He loved spending time with the love of his life Sherril. He also loved spending time with his family and friends.

Celebration of life will be held from 11:30 AM – 10:00 PM on Saturday, April 13, 2024 at the Canton American Legion. Cremation rites will be accorded with Sedgwick Funeral Homes & Crematory.
