F. Dave Ferris

F. Dave Ferris, 74, of Canton, passed away February 13, 2024 at his residence surrounded by family, friends and special buddy nephew Braydon Banning and special friend Carl White. He was born on March 2, 1949 in Keokuk, IA to Fred and Elaine Maxine (Symmonds) Ferris. Dave married Margaret Foster on March 1, 1986 in Cuba, IL. She survives along with three sisters; Penny Ferris-Quick of Johnston, IA, Christy White of Mt. Vernon, OH and Jill Ferris of Gig Harbor, WA, mother-in-law Nancy Foster, sister-in-law Joanne Foster, brother-in-law John “Shannon” Foster, two children, three grandchildren and fur babies; Josie and Sophie. Dave was preceded in death by his father, nephew John Quick and grandparents Roy and Ida Symmonds.

He was a member of Wesley United Methodist Church, UAW #974, Masonic Lodge for 41 years, American Legion for 29 years and 40/8 for 10 years. Dave retired from Caterpillar after 34 years and later employed by Petersen Health Care for 10 years. He was a Navy veteran serving in the special unit of the Seabees. Graveside services will 10 am Friday, February16, 2024 at Cuba Cemetery with Military Honors. Cremation rites have been accorded with the Oaks-Hines Funeral Home in Canton. In lieu of flowers memorials can be made to the Fulton County Humane Society.
