Lewistown - Marilyn A. "Bertie" Burgett, 85, went to be with her Lord and Savior at 4:35 am, Thursday, August 26, 2021 at Clayberg Nursing Home in Cuba. She was born on March 15, 1936 in Waterford Township to Henry and Francis (Ames) Bennett.
She married Robert Burgett in Havana. He preceded her in death in 1994Surviving are her children, Robert (Teri) Burgett of Cuba, Becky (Terry) Black of Liverpool, step children, June (Bill) Cohee of Bath, Chrissy (Dave) Sayers of Bader, Robin Cassel of Fort Campbell, TN, Paula Gilpin of Bath, Amy (Buddy) Dobson of Havana, Jim (A.J.) Burgett of Havana, sister, Ruby Karminzind of Bartonville, eleven grandchildren, several step grandchildren, several great grand children and expecting one great great grandchild.
She was also preceded in death by her parents, one daughter, Brenda Ray, four step children Cathy St Clair, Mellissa Gorforth, Robert A. Burgett, Randy Burgett and her siblings, Russell Bennett, Roy Bennett, Ralph Bennett and Bonnie Hadsall.
Bertie worked throughout her life as a LPN in the area nursing home because of her love for the elderly. She retired from Prairieview Nursing Home in Lewistown after many years of service. She was a devoted member of Waterford Union Church. Most of all though Bertie was a loving mother, grandmother, sister and friend.
Cremation rites have been accorded through Oaks-Hines Funeral Home and Crematory in Canton.
A celebration of her life will be held on Friday, September 3, 2021 at 11 am at the Waterford Union Church. Burial of the ashes will follow at the Waterford Cemetery together with her husband. Family will receive friends one hour prior at the church.
Memorials may be made to the Clayberg Nursing Home in Cuba.
