Della Gillespie

 Pekin - Della Gillespie, 74, of Pekin, passed away at 6:05 AM on Thursday, July 29, 2021 at her residence. She was born on January 6, 1947 in Canton, IL to Donald Lee and Evelyn (Duckwiler) Stufflebeam.

Surviving is four children, Brian (Libby) Gillespie of Pekin, IL, Terry Gillespie of Pekin, IL, Connie Gillespie of TN, and Laura (Tom) Forehand of TN; eight grandchildren; one brother, Alan (Gaylene) Stufflebeam of Farmington; one sister, Marjorie (David) Bayless of Creve Coeur, IL; friend of 7 years, Denny Whittington of Morton, IL.

Della was preceded in death by her parents; one brother, Tom Stufflebeam; one sister, Carolyn; and friend of 25 years, Al Gregory.

Della retired from Caterpillar. She was a member of Mt. Pleasant Methodist Church in rural Lewistown, IL. Della enjoyed bingo, fishing, gardening, and cooking.

Services will be held at 11 AM on Wednesday, September 22, 2021 at Mt. Pleasant Methodist Church in rural Lewistown, IL. Rev. Kathy Barrett will officiate. Burial of ashes will be held at Apple Cemetery in rural Lewistown, IL. Cremation rites will be accorded with Sedgwick Funeral Homes & Crematory in Canton, IL.
