She was born in Canton, IL to Glen and Shirley Manuel, who preceded her in death. She married Don Proper in 1976. He survives. Also surviving are her children, Cole (Michaela) Proper of Omaha, NE and Kyle (Rachel) Proper of Pekin, IL four grandchildren, Easton and Miles Proper of Omaha and Addison and Hannah Proper, of Pekin, and one brother, Greg (Sue) Manuel, of Smithfield, IL.
Marcia worked at Spoon River Electric for 25 years, retiring in 2013. She loved to travel and spend time visiting with friends. More than anything, Marcia enjoyed spending time with her family, particularly her grandchildren. They captured her heart and brought her great joy, hope and comfort.
Funeral services will be held at Brock United Methodist Church in Smithfield on Tuesday, August 3, 2021 at 11:00 AM with Pastor Ellen Dodd officiating. Graveside services will follow at Baughman Cemetery in Smithfield. There will be no visitation. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Illinois Cancer Care Foundation or the OSF Richard L.
