Lionel "Lyle" D. Bauman Sr.

Peoria - Lionel "Lyle "D. Bauman Sr., 83, of Peoria, passed away peacefully at his home with family and loved ones by his side, Sunday, August 22, 2021, at his home in Peoria.

He was born on July 21, 1938, in Fairview, to Charles Willard Bauman and Iva (Robinson). They preceded him in death along with three brothers, two sisters, one half-sister, one grandchild and one great grandchild.
He married the love of his life, Sharon (Utsinger) on April 18, 1958, in Lewistown. She preceded him in death on April 17, 2016.
Together Lionel and Sharon were blessed with eight children, Nikki (Gary) Froman of Peoria, Melody (David) Hitesman of Peoria, Linda Bauman of Peoria, Charles (Lori) Bauman, Lionel (Tina) Bauman Jr. of Peoria, Tonya (the late Ernest) Sally of Peoria, Ivan (Crystal) Bauman of Energy Illinois, and Dawn (James) Bauman of Peoria. Twenty-three grandchildren, several great grandchildren, and several great great grandchildren.
Lionel worked as a Teamsters driver and in his later years worked at Ace Auto Parts. Lionel loved treasure hunting with his best friend Mark, stock car racing, football, and spending time with his family.
A funeral service will be held on Thursday, August 26, 2021, at 11:00 a.m. at Oaks-Hines Funeral Home in Canton, where visitation will be held one hour prior to the service.
Burial will be held at Fiatt Cemetery in Fiatt.
Memorials may be made to TAPS in Pekin.
