Canton – Larry L. Simpson, 78, of Canton, passed away at 10:40 AM on Sunday, August 15, 2021 at Sunset Rehab & Health Care in Canton, IL. He was born on April 10, 1943 to Newton Simpson and Inez (Johnson) Morelli. He married Rebecca Horton on June 23, 1962 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Canton, IL. She survives.
Also surviving are two children, Robbie (Susie) Simpson and Shelly (Rob) Shawgo; three grandchildren, Ross (Chloe) Simpson, Kyle Shawgo, and Kolbi (Issac) Haerle; four great-grandchildren, Mesly, Beckham, Hollis, and Elody; one brother, Dennis (Mary Beth) Morelli, one sister, Melody (Phil) Mears; several sister and brother-in-law's, Barb (Jerry) Rohrer, Judy (Ed) Bump, Rosemary (Rick) Hammond, John (Brenda) Horton, and Theresa (Carl) Murphy; many nieces and nephews, and his life long friend Ed Lidwell.
Larry is preceded in death by his parents.
Larry worked in construction as a heavy equipment operator. He really loved being with his family, especially his grandchildren.
A Celebration of Life and burial at St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery will be held at a later date. Cremation rites will be accorded with Sedgwick Funeral Homes & Crematory in Canton, IL.
