Mundelein Illinois–Ryan Taylor McCrae, 38, formerly of Canton, passed away on Thursday, April 19, 2018 at his residence after a 15 month battle with cancer.
He was born on August 9, 1979 in Peoria to William and Patricia (Beaird) McCrae.
He married Hanny Jung on June 29, 2007 in Palatine, IL. She survives.
Also surviving are his daughter Amelia McCrae, mother Patricia (Bill) Riley of Wee-Ma-Tuk, his father William (Justine) McCrae of East Peoria, maternal grandmother Josephine Beaird of Canton, step sisters, Jennifer (Sean) Selman of CA, Jackie (Jason) Pumphrey of TX, Brooke Schoenman of Sidney, Australia, and step brother Brett Schoenman of IN.
He was preceded in death by paternal grandmother Betty McCrae of Farmington and maternal grandfather Bennie Beaird of Canton.
Ryan received a bachelor’s degree with a concentration in music at Columbia College in Chicago and then received a Bio Medical Engineering degree from DeVry University in Chicago.
He was a Bio-Medical Engineer for Trimedx at Alexian Brothers Health Systems in Elk Grove Village, IL.
Ryan loved writing and listening to music, especially the Beatles and playing his guitars. He was also an avid Chicago Bears fan.
Foremost he loved Hanny and Amelia. They were the loves of his life. He dearly loved his family, friends and his church family at Redeemer Life.
A funeral service has been held in Des Plaines, IL. A visitation will be held from 2 pm until 4 pm, on Sunday, April 29, 2018 at Oaks-Hines Funeral Home in Canton.
Cremation rites have been accorded and the burial of the ashes will be held at a later date.
Memorials can be made to an education fund for his daughter Amelia, to his wife and daughter or American Cancer Society Colorectal Cancer Research, P.O. Box 42040, Oklahoma City, OK 73123.
