Canton – Martha J. McFarland, 91, of Canton, passed away at 6:00 PM on Wednesday, March 28, 2018 at Red Oak Memory Care in Canton, IL. She was born on April 2, 1926 in Christopher, IL to Curtis and Mabel (Williams) Donelson. She married Louis C. McFarland on May 25, 1946, he preceded her in death.
Also preceding her in death are her parents, one son, Louis D. McFarland, and four brothers.
Surviving are five children, Glenda (Don) Bechdolt of Sterling, IL, Carol (Harry) Steck of Canton, IL, Sheila Lucas of Glen Carbon, Michael (Elli) McFarland of TX, and Brenda Conway of Manchester, N.H.; thirteen grandchildren; twelve great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; one brother, Bob Donelson of Canton; and one sister, Debbie Duvall of Centralia, IL.
Martha was an LPN at OSF St. Francis Medical Center for many years. She was a member of First Church of the Nazarene in Canton. Martha loved to crochet and garden. She was also a die hard Cub Fan.
Service will be held at 1 PM Saturday, March 31, 2018 at First Church of the Nazarene in Canton, IL, where a visitation will be held from 12-1 PM. Rev. Dennis Owens will officiate. Cremation rites will be accorded following the services with Sedgwick Funeral Homes & Crematory in Canton, IL. Memorials can be made to the First Church of the Nazarene.
