Maquon – Deborha Lynn Smith, 61, of Maquon, passed away at 8:16 AM on Sunday, April 15, 2018 at her residence. She was born on April 12, 1957 in Pekin, IL to Charles W. and Carol (Struber) Hoerr. She married Floyd “Ed” Smith on August 12, 1983 in Canton, IL. He survives.
Also surviving are four children, Charles W. (Katie) Smith of Farmington, IL, Dottie Lynn Smith of Maquon, IL, Julie (Larry) Zumstein of Canton, IL, and Angie (Nick) Orwig of Canton, IL; seven grandchildren, Lucas Zumstein, Zachary Smith, Emma Orwig, Jacob Smith, Karlee Zumstein, Easton Orwig, and Kaleb Smith; two sisters, Dorothy Terhune of IA and Sonya Culp of Canton, IL; and many loving adopted children and grandchildren.
Deborha was preceded in death by her parents and one brother, Tony Hoerr.
Deborha was a homesteader and a past member of Covenant Community Church in Canton.
A celebration of life will be held at 12 PM on Saturday, April 21, 2018 at First Baptist Church in Canton, IL, where a visitation will be held from 11 AM to 12 PM. Rev. Monroe Bailey will officiate. Cremation rites will be accorded with Sedgwick Funeral Homes & Crematory in Canton, IL. Memorials can be made to filling her homestead wishes in care of Bank of Yates City.
