Jeffery Lynn Probyn

Jeffery Lynn Probyn, Canton - Jeffery Lynn Probyn, 66, of Canton, passed away on Saturday, October 21, 2023, at OSF St. Francis Medical Center in Peoria. He was born on July 20, 1957, in Canton to George C. and Flora Jean (Cook) Probyn. He married Shelley Hoerr on September 6, 2001, in Galesburg. Preceding him in death were his parents, brothers, Charles R. Probyn and Randol A. Probyn, and sisters. Judith A. Largent-Jett and Janis K. Hipple. Surviving are his wife, Shelley R. Probyn, of Canton and four children, Cory M. (Tressa) Probyn, Rebecca L. Green, Matthew D. (Brittany) Hoerr and Mollie D. Hoerr. Jeff is also survived by eleven (11) grandchildren. He worked at Evonik Industries in Mapleton for 46 years. Jeff was an avid fisherman and he and Shelley enjoyed camping at Oak Run Campers Village. He recently found joy in smoking/grilling dishes, and gardening. A visitation will be held at Oaks-Hines Funeral Home in Canton on Friday October 27, 2023, from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. Cremation rites have been accorded and a burial of ashes will take place at a later date in White Chapel Memory Gardens in Canton. Memorials can be made to the Canton Fire Department. Oaks-Hines Funeral Home and Crematory in Canton are in charge of arrangements.
