CANTON– Barbara J. Aplin, 77, of Canton, passed away at 4:25 AM on
Saturday, June 10, 2017 at Sunset Nursing Home in Canton. She was born
on June 23, 1939 in Farmington, a daughter of George and Violet
(Jennings) Phillips. She married Donald Aplin on July 11, 1955 in
Farmington. He preceded her in death.
Also, preceded her in death is her parents, one brother, Maurice Phillips; one sister, Marlene Schneider.
Surviving
is her god-daughters, Becky (Kevin) Vanorder of Canton; Katie Wagner of
Canton; several nieces and nephews; and her god-grandsons, Auston and
Ashton Vanorder.
Barbara work as a self-employed housekeeper for
several families in the community, and also worked for Day & Palin
Grocery store and Shad Hill in Farmington for several years.
Per
Barbara’s wishes cremation rites will be accorded through Sedgwick
Funeral Homes & Crematory. A memorial service will be held at 3:00
PM on Friday, June 16, 2017 at the First Nazarene Church in Canton,
where a light lunch will be provided after services. Pastor Dennis Owens
will officiate. Burial of ashes will be at a later date in Oakridge
