William E. Duffield, 87, of Lewistown passed away at 9:21 am Wednesday October 30, 2024 at his home with friends and family by his side.
He was born July 11, 1937 at Canton, the son of Albert and Mildred (Peterson) Duffield. He married Roberta “Bobbie” Dufield on June 16, 1957 at Lewistown. She died April 27, 2006. He later married Mary Ann Hadsall on April 24, 2010 at Lewistown. She survives with four children, William “Rob” Duffield of Lewistown, Eric T. Duffield of Canton, Charles A. (Clair) Duffield of Glencoe, and Leslie L. Duffield of Canton, two bonus children, Rita (Dan) Welch of Smithfield, and Rosie (Everett) Diden of Lewistown, nine grandchildren, ten bonus grandchildren, twelve great grandchildren, nine bonus great grandchildren, and two great great grandchildren, two “Like Brothers” Richard Well of Lewistown, and Joe Parkinson of Springfield, OH.; a brother in law, Jerry Webster of Forsyth, and his dog, Tucker Boy. He was preceded in death by his parents, one granddaughter, Stephanie Duffield, one bonus daughter, Rhonda Clark, and one sister, Jeannie Parsons.
Bill was a master electrician and had many jobs throughout his life including farming, coal miner, and working at Crawfords, Canton Library, and the City of Canton. He retired from Graham Hospital after 25 years of service as the maintenance supervisor. He was a member of the Lewistown Church of the Nazarene where he had served as a board member for 8 years. He was a member of Lewistown Lodge 104 AF & AM, and Canton Elks Lodge. He enjoyed fishing, driving his Ford Mustang, spending time with family, playing cards, and eating out. He was an avid Bears, Cubs, and Illini fan.
A masonic service will be held at 2 pm Sunday November 3, 2024 at Henry-Lange Memorial Home in Lewistown. His funeral service will immediately follow the masonic service. Visitation will be held from 1-2 pm on Sunday. Cremation will follow the services. Memorial contributions may be made to the Lewistown Church of the Nazarene.
