Thomas was born July 23, 1954, in Jackson, MI, to Orville and Leona (Tinkham) Pickrell. Thomas married Diane Simkins on June 16, 1974, at the United Methodist Church in London Mills. She survives.
Thomas is also survived by one daughter, Angel (Kirk) Nordwahl and two grandchildren, Isabelle and Thomas Nordwahl, all of Farmington; four brothers, Roger (Toni) Pickrell, Duke (Jeannie) Pickrell, Jack (Ellen) Pickrell, and Kenny (Carol) Pickrell; three brothers-in-law, Roger (Roxanne) Simkins, Larry (Patsy) Simkins, and John (Cindy) Simkins; one sister, Pat (Ron) Powell; several nieces and nephews; and his dog, Fiona.
Thomas is preceded in death by his parents; one sister, Diane (the late Pat) Day; seven deceased siblings; and his dog, Jordan.
Thomas was a Welder at Caterpillar for 37 years where he retired from in 2014. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, gardening, archery, painting, cooking, and being outside in nature, including taking pictures of eagles. He was an avid Vikings fan and loved music, especially “Rock ‘n’ Roll” and the “Beatles”. Most of all, he loved being at all of his grandchildren’s activities.
A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m., on Saturday, November 23, 2024, at the United Methodist Church in London Mills. A visitation will be held one hour prior to the service, from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m., at the church. Food and fellowship will follow at the church. Cremation rites will then be accorded, and a private burial of ashes will be held at London Mills Cemetery.
Memorials may be made to St. Jude and the United Methodist Church in London Mills.
