He was born October 1, 1954, in Peoria, to William “Dale” and Margaret (Wolf) Emerick. He married Bobette “Bobbi” Montag on July 29, 1972, at the Union Church in Brimfield. She survives.
Bill is also survived by five children, Margaret “Margie” Emerick (James) Feik of Brimfield, Brian (Virginia) Emerick of Brimfield, Melanie (Jarod) Lukehart of Washington, Ben (Kayla) Emerick of Princeville, and William “Billy” (Melissa Petermeyer) Emerick of Yates City; one brother, Bob (the late Louise) Emerick, three sisters, Betty (the late Bob) Pacey, Mary (the late Bob) Short, and Sherry Steinkuehler; thirteen grandchildren, Kevin, Carmen, Michael, Shaun, Jonathan, Rebecca, Lily, Lexi, Jacen, Lincoln, Deacon, Eden, and one-on-the-way.
Bill is preceded in death by his parents.
Bill was a lifetime truck driver and farmer. He enjoyed gardening and tinkering around with things outside. He also loved fishing with his parents, kids, and extended family, especially on the annual trip to Minnesota.
A funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m., on Friday, March 8, 2024, at Oaks-Hines Funeral Home in Elmwood. A visitation will be held the night before on Thursday, March 7, 2024, from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., at the funeral home. Burial will immediately follow the service at Brimfield Township Cemetery. Food and fellowship will also follow the service at the Brimfield Legion.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the family to help with funeral expenses.
