Ricky L. Thompson

Ricky Lee Thompson, 59, of Havana passed away on Sunday, March 17, 2024 at 10:24 p.m. at Mason District Hospital. He was born on December 2, 1964 in Havana to Russell and Carlena (Russell) Thompson, Jr. He married Jacqueline Engledow on May 1, 1999 in Havana.

Ricky is survived by his wife, Jacqueline "Jackie" Thompson of Havana; daughter, Allison (Christopher) Pallo of Athens; granddaughter, Claire Pallo; parents, Jr and Carlena Thompson of Havana; and brother, Bruce Thompson of Virginia, Illinois. He was preceded in death by his brother, Steven Thompson, grandparents, and father-in-law.
Ricky was a 1983 graduate of Havana High School. He started working for Havana Township in 1995 and was promoted to Havana Township Road Commissioner in 1999, which he was very proud of. He was an avid St. Louis Cardinals and Illini Basketball fan and enjoyed camping and a cold Bud Light. He loved all animals, especially his cat “Charlie Tuna”, and loved being around people and hanging out with his friends.
A visitation will be held on Thursday, March 21, 2024 from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Hurley Funeral Home in Havana and a Celebration of Life will be held on Friday, March 22, 2024 from 1:00 p.m. until 5:00 p.m. at the VFW Post #6408 in Havana.
