Tony Long, 74, of Canton, passed away, Thursday, March 7, 2024, at the Loft in Canton.
He was born in Canton on December 8, 1949, to William and Hazel (Lowry) Long. They preceded him in death along with his two brothers Freeman Long, and Bill long.
Tony is survived by his three children, Gina Long, and Nick (Angie Pacotti - Long) Long, and Greg Long, one sister, Bonnie (Harold) Jump, three grandchildren, Giovanni, Brock, and Trenton, six great grandchildren, Davina, Vivian, Dean, Carter, Mason, and Elizabeth, the mother of his children, Murlea Ferrarini, and his close friend Sandy Young.
Tony retired from Caterpillar in 1999 after 32 years. In his retirement he drove a school bus for Canton Union School District for 20 years. He was a member of the First Church of the Nazarene in Canton. Tony was always able to keep a conversation, he never met a stranger anywhere he went. He held the gift of generosity and never shied away from lending a hand when needed. He was devout in his faith. Most of all Tony loved his family especially his great grandchildren.
Memorials may be made to American Cancer Society, or to Fulton County Humane Society.
A funeral service will be held at 6:00 p.m. at Oaks-Hines Funeral Home in Canton on Wednesday, March 13, 2024, where visitation will be held from 4:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m.
